KKR is gearing up for the 18th season of the IPL, with the complete schedule for IPL 2025 set to be unveiled soon. As teams prepare, they are starting to reveal their captains, and last year’s champions, KKR, are expected to follow suit shortly.
Recent reports from Cricinfo suggest that Ajinkya Rahane may be tapped as the new captain for the Kolkata Knight Riders, though the franchise has yet to make an official announcement. Fans are eagerly awaiting this decision, which could come any day now.
Ajinkya Rahane new captain for the KKR
Interestingly, Ajinkya Rahane did not attract any bidders during the first round of the IPL Mega Auctions but found a home with KKR in the second round. If he takes the field in 2025, he will be one of the veteran players at 36 years and 178 days old. So far, Rahane has participated in 185 IPL matches, amassing 4,642 runs at an average of 30.14.
